Synopsis

In a nation beset by glaring contradictions, a young Brazilian woman navigates a life suspended between two disparate worlds, living in a Favela overlooking the adjacent opulence of Rio's iconic Ipanema beach. Within the walls of her modest dwelling, she cares for her ailing grandmother, steeped in the traditions and hardships of favela life. In stark contrast, her infant daughter lives with her estranged partner, a man from Rio's privileged upper echelons. Each day presents a new set of challenges—economic, social, and emotional, as she navigates the complex tapestry that is her life, a living embodiment of Rio de Janeiro's intrinsic contradictions and disparities.
